Countdown of Mujib Year from Jan 10: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzman Khan Kamal said the countdown to the grand celebrations of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will begin on January 10.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will formally inaugurate the countdown at Parade Ground at 3:00pm on the day, he added.

The Minister told this to the reporters on Thursday, after a meeting of the National Committee for the Celebration of the Birth Centenary of Bangabandhu.

Home Minister said, “March 17, 2020 is the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The countdown will begin on January 10. Army will be deployed to ensure security at the venue. Other law enforcement agencies will assist them.”
