Cyclone ‘Vardah’ forms over Bay of Bengal

Staff Correspondent: A cyclone has developed from a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal, says the Met Office.
According to a special weather bulletin on Thursday, tropical cyclone ‘Vardah’ was likely to intensify further and head towards the northwesterly direction.
Maritime ports in Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been asked to hoist Warning Signal No Two.
The sea would remain very rough near the centre of the cyclone which was located 1,230 kilometres south of Chittagong port, 1,150 kilometres south of Cox`s Bazar port, 1,255 kilometres south of Mongla port and 1,200 kilometres south of Paira port on Thursday morning, the weather bulletin said.
Fishing trawlers were advised against venturing into the deep sea and asked to stay near the coast until further notice.
