DB conducts drive with Shahed, car-arms recovered

Detective Branch (DB) of police carried out a drive along with Regent Hospital Chairman Shahed alias Shahed Karim who was arrested for allegedly issuing fake Covid-19 certificates as well as charging exorbitant fees for Covid-19 testing and treatment of inpatients.

The drive was conducted at the head office of Regent Hospital and Regent Group in the capital’s Uttara on Saturday (July 18) midnight.

A car used by Shahed, arms and bullets were recovered during the drive.

Walid Hossain, Deputy Commissioner (DC) in the Media and Public Relations Wing of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed the matter to risingbd on Sunday (July 19) morning.

A press briefing will be held in this regard today at noon, he said.
