DGHS director Aminul being removed

Now Aminul Islam, director (Hospitals and Clinics) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), is being removed, a day after its director general (DG) Professor Dr Abul Kalam Azad resigned.

He is likely to be discharged any time on Wednesday, according to sources concerned.

Earlier, DG Abul Kamal Azad submitted his resignation letter to the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday, amid controversy over various irregularities in the health department in dealing with coronavirus pandemic.  

Dr Azad has been criticised over various activities since the coronavirus outbreak began in the country. He was widely lambasted on social media after scams of JKG Health Care and Regent Hospital over fake coronavirus certificate came to light.
