DIG Mizan denied bail, handed over to cops

Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) has handed over suspended Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Mizanur Rahman, to police, rejecting his bail plea. 

Mizanur Rahman was temporarily suspended in a case filed for allegedly amassing wealth of Tk 3.28 crore illegally.

The Justice Obaidul Hassan-led HC bench came up with the order on Monday afternoon.

The court said asked police to appear him before the Dhaka’s Special Judge Court by 24 hours.

The court said, “DIG Mizan tarnished the image of police force thoroughly. We saw that he delivered a desperate speech for bribery.”
