Dense fog: Bus plunge kills 2 in Kishoreganj

At least two people were killed and 40 injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Kamaliarchar area of Kishoreganj sadar upazila early Friday due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.

The deceased were identified as Foijul Islam Chowdhury, 60, at Kanaighat of Sunamganj, and Jinat Khan, 45, a nurse of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

A Mymensingh-bound bus of Bishal Paribahan from Sunamganj fell into a ditch in Kamaliarchar area at about 4:30am as its driver lost control over the steering due to thick fog, police said.

Two passengers of the bus died on the spot while 40 others sustained injuries, they added.

The injured were rushed to Kishoreganj General Hospital.
