Dhaka city polls on Jan 30

The elections to the two Dhaka city corporations-- Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) will be held on January 30.

Chief election commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda announced the schedules for polls to two Dhaka city corporations at a media briefing at the media cantre of Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital on Sunday.

Nurul Huda also said, “As per the schedule, the deadline for the submission of nomination paper is December 31, while the date for scrutinising the nomination papers is January 2 and the last date for the withdrawal of candidacy is January 10.”
Allocation of election symbol will be done on January 30, he added.

The CEC also said, the ballots would be cast through electronic voting machines (EVMs) from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on January 30 without any break.
