Drug dealer killed in city ‘gunfight’

A drug and arms dealer has been killed in a reported gunfight with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in the city.

The gunfight took place in Asian city area of Dakshinkhan Police Station early Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Ripon, 35.

According to sources, a team of RAB members conducted a drive there to recover drug and firearms. Sensing the presence of law enforcers, the criminals opened fire forcing them to back fire in self defence that triggered a gunfight. Later, RAB members rescued him with bullet injury, and he was taken to a hospital where duty doctors declared him dead. 

The elite force claimed that a RAB member has been injured in the gunfight.
