Drug trader killed in Thakurgaon gunfight

Senior Correspondent: A suspected drug trader has been killed in a gunfight with Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) in Fokirganj border area in Pirganj upazila of Thakugaon.

The deceased was identified as Monirul Islam Babul.

BGB headquarters this noon said that the drug trader was arrested on Tuesday night with liquor and Phensidyl.

Later, following his information, BGB conducted a drive in the area around 2:00am. Meanwhile, drug traders attacked BGB personnel. At one stage, the law enforcers opened fire, leaving Moniru dead on the spot.
