Parliament Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has announced to keep continue the efforts of building corruption-free society.
She said, “Corruption is one the major problems. Those who grab powers illegally always take shelter of corruption and spread it in the society like a malady. I believe in zero-tolerance against corruption. I always say and put stress that the efforts of building corruption-free society will continue.”
The Premier said this while winding up the general discussion on the proposed budget for fiscal year 2019-20 in the parliament on Saturday.
Highlighting different steps on economic development, PM said, “Some specific activities were mentioned in the proposed budget to bring over all discipline in the economy.”
She further said, “The announcement on decreasing loan defaulters made by Finance Minister is very time-befitting. Alongside, I recommend to keep interest rate on bank loan under single digit. If it is done, it is possible to build the industry and business sector capable of facing competition. No industry can be boosted up with high-rated interest.
