Senior Correspondent: The Bangladesh Railway will start advance ticket sale from May 22 to facilitate people’s travel to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr.
Advance tickets will be sold till May 26. Tickets will be sold from 9:00am to 4:00pm each day.
Railways minister Nurul Islam Sujan made the disclosure while addressing a press briefing at Rail Bhaban on Thursday.
This year, for the first time railway will sell advance tickets for the journey on different routes from five different spots in the capital while 50 percent advance tickets would be sold in online through the mobile app Rail Sheba. Besides, rest 50 percent tickets will be sold from ticket counters.
The tickets for May 31, June 1, 2, 3, 4 will be sold on May 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 respectively.
For return journeys, the tickets for June 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 will be available on May 29, 30, 31 and June 1, 2.
The minister said that a passenger can buy maximum four tickets and must show the NID card. The move has been taken to prevent black marketing of tickets.
Separate tickets counters will be allotted for female persons, Nurul Islam Sujan added.
