Ershad to be buried at army graveyard: GM Quader

Senior Correspondent: Jatiya Party Chairman Hussain Mouhammad Ershad will be buried at the Army Graveyard in Dhaka, the party's Acting Chairman GM Quader said.

He said this while addressing newsmen before leaving Dhaka for Rangpur on Tuesday.

GM Quader said, “According to his (Ershad) last wish, he will be buried at Banani army graveyard. Although it is situated in cantonment but anyone will be allowed to visit the grave.”

Younger brother of Ershad and Jatiya Party acting chairman GM Quader, Ershad’s son Rahgir Al Mahi Saad, party’s secretary general Moshiur Rahman Ranga, former secretary general ABM Ruhul Alim Hawladar and others attended there.

A helicopter carrying his coffin departed from Tejgaon Airport for Rangpur, his electoral area around 10:30am. After the fourth phase of Janaza of Ershad, the body will be taken back Dhaka.
