Mansur Pretin, a student, a content creator, a graphic designer, a photographer and an entrepreneur, recently gave an interview to risingbd, sharing his experiences of working and different sights of his life which are given below.
Hello, how are you?
Mansur Pretin: Alhamdulillah, I am good.
From where you completed your S.S.C and H.S.C?
Mansur Pretin: I completed my SSC from Greenview High School and HSC from Adamjee Cantonment College.
Right now where and in which subject are you studying?
Mansur Pretin: Right now, I am studying BBA general at North South University.
Where did you use to live in your childhood? Tell us some fun things that you used to do when you were a child.
Mansur Pretin: I used to live in Mirpur, Dhaka from my childhood.
When I was a child, whenever I used to go to shopping with my parents, I used to pick the largest toy from the toy shops and walk away without giving any attention to my parents and shop-keepers.
Do you want to give any advice to a 17 years old yourself?
Mansur Pretin: I would like to advise, 17 years of age is the most crucial and sensitive period for a student. So, rather than having different ambitions and targets, a person should fix one particular target and keep working on that particular goal. Because during my time, I had too many targets starting from BMA, IBA to studying abroad, and that cluttered my ambition. So, I would tell me to focus on one thing.
Is there anything that you wanted to achieve from your childhood and now you have got that? If yes, then what is that and how do you achieve that?
Mansur Pretin: During my childhood, I wanted to get a personal DSLR camera. But, I failed to convince my parents. But, now Alhamdulillah I managed to own a professional mirror less camera on my own. And I bought it through my work.
At this moment we all know we have got some precious free time. So, what are you doing at this time? Are you doing something productive? Share it with us! We would love to know about your activities.
Mansur Pretin: In this free time, I am continuing my projects and work just like before, Alhamdulillah grateful for that. Besides that, I am commending online lessons on photography and after-effects.
What is your dream job?
Mansur Pretin: There are so many but I want to be a successful entrepreneur and I’m working hard for this.
I have noticed that you are a very good graphic designer and also a content creator. Also I saw that you make some interesting content that holds an interesting theme. How do you create those ideas and convert them into art?
Mansur Pretin: I follow a lot of artists and creators, and checking their works helps me a lot. I think, seeing things from a different perspective and implementing the ideas accordingly can make an art successful.
I have noticed as well that you are doing great in photography and in manipulation editing too. From where you started? Share the story with us!
Mansur Pretin: Back in 2018, after my HSC I used to create some basic photoshop edits on Instagram. Later my friends influenced me to make my profile public and after seeing my contents many brands reached out to me and offered me for content making and designing. Alhamdulillah, I have worked with many brands until now.
As I can see that you are currently studying in BBA but besides that, you are doing graphic designing and creating contents too, which are different from your subject. How do you make a combination of that in you? Did you face any difficulties by doing that? If yes, then how did you overcome them?
Mansur Pretin: I am currently studying BBA and for that, I need to create a lot of presentations and reports. Having learned graphic design helps me a lot to make those.
I usually don’t face difficulties that much, because my works are marketing based and marketing is a part of my studies. I go to university 4 days a week and the other 3 days I keep on working for myself.
So, luckily I am maintaining both of the sectors properly.
Those who want to be a graphic designer in future, What will be your suggestion and advice for them?
Mansur Pretin: My first suggestion will be for them to have to gain a strong determination in graphic design.
Secondly, they can recreate famous logos just by searching for tutorials on YouTube, those 5 minutes of tutorials can give them instant success and joy. Also that will encourage them to learn more and more. Because there are a lot of tutorials which could be lengthy and that will make them bored.
When I started learning graphic design I used to create simple arts watching youtube and step by step I tried complex ones and automatically made myself an expert.
In your journey who were always beside you and whom you want to say thanks to the most?
Mansur Pretin: I would like to thank my parents for always supporting and believing in me from the start. I got my first job when I was 18 years old, and fortunately, they permitted me to do that job. If they didn’t permit me that time I wouldn’t be here in this place working for so many brands and meeting so many people throughout my professional life.
So, in series #30days30souls you are one of those 30 people. How do you feel to take part in this?
Mansur Pretin: I am very much delighted and thrilled to be a part of this #30days30souls series. Because I am one of those 30 souls whom you count to be extraordinary and exceptional from others. I am very much happy to share my story on a famous platform like “RISINGBD ONLINE NEWS PORTAL” which is connected with over a million people and thank you Nabila Nowshin for this.
And also, there are more 29 people like you who are passionate about their work and doing great for the world. Do you want to give any message to them?
Mansur Pretin: First of all, I would like to congratulate them on being in series #30days30souls. I would like to tell them, keep going on whatever you’re doing, never doubt yourself, and never compare yourself with others. Because everybody is a winner in their way.
