Fake doctor jailed for two years in Dhaka

A mobile court on Sunday jailed a fake doctor of a private hospital in Dhaka's Motijheel area and fined his assistant Tk four lakh in total on charge of providing treatment without certificates.

Mizanur Rahman, a physician of Islami Bank Hospital, was given two-year imprisonment, said RAB-3 magistrate Polash Bashu.

The so-called doctor provided treatment to patients from last 12 years in the hospital. He was a homeopathic doctor but he provided treatment in allopathic way. Even, he conducted hearth surgery.

Magistrate Polash Bashu said, Mizanur Rahman is a Unani practitioner. But, he has cardiology and other PhD level certificates. He studied on Unani but he prescribed his patients allopathic medicine. That’s why he was punished.
