Father arrested for killing 18-day-old baby

Police say they have arrested a father who has killed his 18-day-old baby in Bhangnahati area of Sreepur municipality in Gazipur.
On Sunday morning, police recovered the body and arrested his father Bijoy Hasan, 22, son of Shamsul Haq at Howla village under Sreepur upazila.
Md Mofazzel Hossain, grandfather of the child, alleged that Bijoy Hasan drowned the child in the water of a bucket at their bathroom.
The baby was found with unconscious and unresponsive condition in the morning and he was taken to Sreepur Upazila Health Complex where he was pronounced dead.
Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge of Sreepur Thana Mohammad Liakat Ali said police is investigating the matter.
