Ferry service on Shimulia-Kathalbari route halted

Ferry service on Shimulia-Kathalbari river route has been suspended due to lack of navigability and strong current in Padma river.

The ferry service remained halted since 3:00am on Sunday.

A source at the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) said the ferry service on Shimulia-Kathalbari river route was suspended at 3:00am due to lack of navigability and strong current in Padma river.

Abdus Salam Mia, manager at Shimulia-Kathalbari ghat, confirmed the matter to risingbd.
