Former OC Moazzem jailed for 8 years

Moazzem Hossain, former officer-in-charge (OC) of Sonagazi police station has been jailed eight years in two separate cases.

Judge Ash Sams Joglul Hossain of the Cyber Tribunal of Dhaka passed the order on Thursday.

The court also fined him Tk15 lakh, in default of which he has to serve six more months in jail.

Earlier, Moazzem Hossain, former Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Feni’s Sonagazi Police Station, was indicted in a case filed under Information and Computer Technology (ICT) act over madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi murder.
