Former Sylhet Mayor Kamran dies of Covid-19

Former Sylhet City Corporation Mayor and Awami League central executive committee member Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran is no more.

He died of coronavirus around 3.00am on Monday at Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka.

Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran’s son Dr Arman Ahmed Shiplu and younger brother Enam Ahmed confirmed the news.

On June 5, Kamran tested positive for coronavirus and was admitted to Sylhet Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital.

On June 7, he was taken to Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka by a special helicopter of Air Force as his physical condition deteriorated due to Covid-19 infection.

On May 27, his wife Asma Kamran also tested positive for Covid-19.
