Former state minister Advocate Rahmat Ali has died at a hospital in the city on Sunday morning (Inna lillahe wa inna ilaihe rajeun).
Rahmat Ali, the advisory committee member of Awami League, breathed his last at Square Hospitals in the capital at 7:35am.
Confirming the news, personal secretary of the deceased SM Jahangir Alam Siraji said he was suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure or kidney diseases for long.
Rahmat Ali was also the former member of parliament to Gazipur-3 constituency.
