Gang leader accused in 42 cases killed in ‘gunfight’

Inter-district gang leader was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with detectives while taking preparation for robbery at Ajam Khan market at Chharaitkandi under Sonagazi upazila in Feni early Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Iqbal Hossain, 35, son of late Abdur Rab. He was accused in 42 cases with different police stations.

Three cops sustained injuries during the incident.

Ranjit Kumar Barua, In-Charge of Detective Branch (DB) of Police in Feni, confirmed the news.

A one-pipe gun and three round fresh bullets were recovered from the spot, he added.
