Gonoshasthaya gets approval to produce coronavirus-detection kit

The government has approved Gonoshasthaya Kendra to import raw materials of producing coronavirus-detection kit.

Directorate of drug administration gave the approval on Thursday.

Founder of Gonoshasthaya Kendra Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury confirmed the news to risingbd.

He said, “Raw materials for the kit -- Rapid Dot Blot -- will reach Bangladesh from the UK in a week.”

"We will start full-scale production in two weeks," he said.

A team of Gonoshasthaya-RNA Biotech Limited, a sister concern of Gonoshasthaya Kendra, claims to have developed the kit that can detect novel coronavirus infection in 15 minutes.
