‘Govt takes up challenge of preventing dengue’

Senior Correspondent: Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said that the government has taken up the challenge in preventing dengue and chikungunya.

The minister said this at the launching ceremony of activities of sub-committee on relief at the AL Dhanmondi office on Sunday.

“We have taken the matter seriously, it is our challenge to prevent dengue and chikungunya”, he said.

As a part of the countrywide mosquito killing and cleanliness week wastes and water hyacinths are being cleared from the drains, canals, ponds and lakes under the supervision of the city corporations, municipalities, district and upazilas administration and union parishads.

The AL general secretary also urged the party leaders and workers to stay beside flood victims side-by-side with the administration.
