HC directs govt to form task force to stop unfit vehicles

The High Court directed the authorities concerned to form a task force across the country so that vehicles without fitness, clearance and license can't ply on the roads.

The HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice KM Hafizul Alam passed the order on Sunday.

According to the direction, the task force will be formed with the combination of an executive magistrate, police and representatives of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) in every districts.

The secretaries of Road Transport and Highways Division, Public Administration and Home Affairs were asked to implement the order. The Deputy Commissioners (DC) have also been directed to appoint an executive magistrate for the task force.

Barrister Moin Ferozi and Advocate Rafiul Islam moved for the BRTA while deputy attorney general AKM Amin Uddin Manik stood for the state.
