Staff Correspondent: The High Court asked Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) to submit a list of unfit registered vehicles plying the streets across the country, as well as information about drivers without valid licences.
The HC bench of Justice MD Nazrul Islam Talukdar and Justice KM Hafizul Alam passed the order on Monday.
Barrister Moin Firozi and Rafiul Islam moved for BRTA while Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik stood for the state.
The directed the authority concerned to submit the list of 458,369 unfit vehicle owners within next one month.
Earlier on March 23, advocate Syed Mamun Mahbub brought the matter to the High Court bench’s attention. Later, the court issue a rule in this regard.
