Holey Artisan café attack case verdict Wednesday

A Dhaka court will deliver its verdict in a case filed over the terror attack on Holey Artisan café in capital’s Gulshan on November 27 (Wednesday).

Anti-Terrorism Special Tribunal Judge Mohammad Mojibur Rahman will announce the verdict at noon.

Earlier on November 18, the court fixed the date on November 27 after hearing the arguments of the both sides in the case.

Public Prosecutor Golam Sarwar Khan (Zakir) said, “We have been able to prove the charges against the accused, and they will be awarded with the highest punishment.”

Lawyers of defendants said, “The state side could not prove the allegations against the accused. That’s why accused will get acquittal.”

On July 1, 2016, five members of militant outfit Islamic State attacked Holey Artisan bakery in diplomatic area of Gulshan in the capital killing 20 people, mostly foreigners. The following day, five militants were killed in a commando operation by the army.
