'I am sorry, Mom ... I'm dying'

When authorities in England made the horrific discovery of 39 bodies in a container truck this week, they initially thought all the victims were Chinese.

Now, however, that is changing, thanks in part to the emergence of a wrenching text sent by a missing 26-year-old Vietnamese woman. “I’m sorry Mom," wrote Pham Thi Tra My.

"My path abroad doesn’t succeed. Mom, I love you so much! I’m dying because I can’t breathe. ... I am sorry, Mom."

The text was sent at 10:28pm Tuesday, British time, when the truck carrying 31 men and eight women would have been in transit.

Whether Tra My was on the truck has not yet been confirmed.

Her brother said that she paid about $38,000 smugglers to get her into the UK, a path that took her first to China and then to France.

The family has not heard from her since receiving the text.

Meanwhile, police have arrested a fourth person, a 48-year-old man from Northern Ireland, in connection with the deaths, reports AP.

They previously arrested a man and a woman from England, both age 38, and the 25-year-old male driver of the truck remains in custody.
