Indefinite transport strike in Sirajganj

Sirajganj Correspondent:  Transport owners and workers have enforced an indefinite strike in the district from Thursday morning over a conflict between bus owners of Dhaka and Sirajganj.

General Secretary of Sirajganj District Bus Owners Association Mejbahul Islam Liton and General Secretary of Sirajganj District Motor Sramik Union Ansar Ali confirmed this to risingbd on Wednesday night.

Over the conflict, bus service on Dhaka- Sirajganj route has been stooped for last six days, creating sufferings to the commuters.

On Tuesday, Sirajganj District Bus Minibus and Coach Owners' Association gave a 48-hour ultimatum to the Mohakhali association to resolve the conflict.

But their demands haven't been met yet as a result they have again enforced the strike.

“We won't take any bus, truck, CNG-driven auto-rickshaw and battery-powered auto-rickshaw on roads during the strike,” they added.
