Indefinite transport strike in Sylhet-Companiganj route

Transport owners and workers went on an indefinite strike on Sylhet-Companiganj-Bholaganj route on Tuesday morning to protest the newly launched Road Transport Act.
Nurul Islam, Organizing secretary of CNG auto-rickshaw workers union 707 Ambarkhana-Salutikar Unit said, “We have called an indefinite strike demanding four points demand. The strike will be continued until our demands are met.”
The demands include – amendment of new road transport act, registration scope for on-test vehicles, cancellation the term of auto rickshaw driver’s eight-class pass mandatory rule and Stopping plying the buses of BRTC on Sylhet-Companiganj route.
