Indian Defence Minister arrives in Dhaka

Staff Correspondent: Indian Defence Minister Shri Manohar Gopalkrishna Prabhu Parrikar on Wednesday noon has arrived in Dhaka on a two-day official visit.

Foreign Ministry sources said a discussion on military and security issues will be held between the two countries during his visit.

An 11-member high-powered Indian delegation led by Shri Manohar Gopalkrishna Prabhu Parrikar included deputy chiefs of three services.

During his visit in Dhaka, the Indian minister will pay separate calls on President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

On the first day of his two-day visit, Parrikar along with the members of his delegation will meet Prime Minister`s Security Adviser when they will discuss matters relating to bilateral issues.

About Parrikar’s visit, Indian media reported that it is expected to discuss different issues relating to expansion of cooperation between the services of the two countries.
