Integrated initiatives needed to face natural disasters

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman said integrated initiatives and preparations are important to face natural disasters.

The minister made the assertion while addressing a closing ceremony of three-day long workshop titled ‘Deeper Understanding of Natural Hazards Workshops’ at Dhaka University on Wednesday.

He said, “Due to geographical location and climate change, Bangladesh face constantly various types of disasters. Training, practice and exchanging experience will play an effective role to face these calamities.”

A total of 40 representatives from Bangladesh, Myanmar, Vietnam, Philippines, Taiwan, Indonesia and Malaysia took part in the workshop.
