Italian girl flees to Bangladesh for her love

An Italian girl, who fell in love with a Bangladeshi national, has got married to the man she loves in Laxmipur.

The girl arrived in Bangladesh on Thursday and tied the knot her lover Iqbal Hossain. She also converted herself into Islam and took Islamic name as Khadiza Akhter.

Iqbal Hossain is known as son of Akter Hossain of Pashchim Sonapur under Raipur upazila in Laxmipur. People crowded at Iqbal’s home to visit the Italian girl after news of marriage spread in the area.

According to family, Iqbal used to work in a company of the girl’s family in his expatriate life. He had been two years there. Then, Iqbal and the girl loved each other.

After two years, Iqbal returned home and could not fly to Italy due to document complexities. But they continued contacts each other and engaged with love.

On Thursday, the girl arrived in Bangladesh and they tied the knot as per Islamic ritual.

The newly married girl said that she knew about culture and atmosphere of Bangladesh from Iqbal. He loved Iqbal and Bangladesh.

Iqbal’s father Akter Hossain said he is happy for his daughter-in-law.

He requested all to pray for the newly married couple.
