Jamalpur DC Ahmed Kabir suspended

Former Jamalpur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ahmed Kabir has been suspended over the leakage of video footage showing him in a compromising situation with a woman in his office.   

Probe body of cabinet division submitted its report to the ministry of Public Administration recommending punitive action against him. Following the report, he was suspended, said an official of Public Administration Ministry.

Additional Secretary (Discipline and Investigation) of the Public Administration Ministry Maniruddin said that the punitive action was taken against the DC on September 25. A notification was issued in this regard on Wednesday.

Social media went into a frenzy when media reports identified the man in the video as Jamalpur DC Kabir and the woman as a staff in his office. The room shown in the video clip is the restroom in the DC’s office.

After the incident, Ahmed Kabir was transferred to the Ministry of Public Administration as ‘officer on special duty’ or OSD on August 25.
