Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash has been made new chairman while Mainul Hossain Nikhil general secretary of Jubo League, the youth wing of the ruling Awami League, for the next three years.
Parash, the eldest son of Jubo League founder Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni, was elected unopposed during its 7th national congress held at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka on Saturday.
Chayan Islam, convener of the Jubo League congress preparatory committee, proposed the name while its incumbent general secretary Harun-Or-Rashid supported it with huge clapping from the participants.
Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash was involved in teaching at BRAC University. His younger brother Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has been elected MP three times (Dhaka-12).
Meanwhile, Mainul Hossain Nikhil, the current Jubo League Dhaka North Unit President, has been made General Secretary (GS) of Jubo League.
Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader declared their names in the second session of the congress.
Nikhil will step down from the president post of Jubo League Dhaka North Unit. Zakir Hossain Babul will perform as president of the unit.
