Junior Tigers restrict India to 106

Sports Desk: Bangladesh restricted India to 106 runs in U-19 Asia Cup final match that began in R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo at 10:30am on Saturday (Bangladesh local time).

India were all out for 106 runs in 32.4 overs.

To chase the 107-runs target set by India, junior Tigers are now batting on 81 runs for eight wickets in 21.5 overs.

Earlier, winning the toss, India opted to bat first against Bangladesh in U-19 Asia Cup final.

This is the first ever chance for Junior Tigers to clinch the U-19 Asia Cup title while seventh for the Indians.

Bangladesh U-19 cricket team advanced to their first ever U-19 Asia Cup final after rain forced the abandonment of their semi-final against Afghanistan Thursday in Moratuwa’s Tyrone Fernando Stadium.

The junior Tigers went through to the grand finale courtesy their superior position in the group stages, where they finished as Group B champion.

Bangladesh won all their group phase games, against Sri Lanka, Nepal and the UAE.

It promises to be a fascinating affair against six-time champion India, who also won their three group stage matches, against Afghanistan, Pakistan and Kuwait.
