Key accused Nayon, Rifat attempt to flee

Senior Correspondent: Law enforcers are yet to arrest the two key accused in connection with a case filed over the sensational murder of Rifat Sharif, who was stabbed dead in front of his wife in broad daylight in Barguna.
It has been learnt that the two accused Nayon and Rifat Farajee have reportedly attempted to flee the country.
Barguna Superintendent of Police Maruf Hossain on Saturday night told risingbd that: “Five accused have so far been arrested in this connection out of them three are named in the case filed over the murder. Police are trying to arrest the two masterminds in the case. They will be arrested soon wherever they hide themselves.”
Replying to a question, the police official said, “I have also heard that Nayon attempted to flee the country. I request those who can provide information on them to inform the concerned police station.”
According to detectives, Nayon has remained hidden in any of the border districts in northern areas of the country. Besides, Rifat Farajee is also attempting to flee to neighbouring country crossing border. Nayon tried to leave the country through the hilly border area in Dinajpur but failed due to the red alert issued there.
Mentionable, about 4/5 criminals including Nayan and Rifat Farajee attacked Rifat Sharif (25) with sharp weapon in broad daylight in front of Barguna Government College Wednesday (June 26) morning while her wife was desperately trying to save him.
The entire incident was captured possibly on a mobile phone and footage of the incident went viral on social media.
Immediately after the attack, locals took Rifat to Barishal Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital (BSMCH). Later, he was pronounced dead.
Rifat was the only son of Abdul Halim Dulal Sharif at Boro Lobongola village in Burirchar union under Barguna sadar upazila.
