‘Land officials asked to submit wealth info’

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Jabed has said that all government staff and officials of the land offices have to submit their wealth statements.

The newly appointed land minister said this while addressing a view exchange meeting with journalists at Chattogram press club on Saturday noon.

He said, “All staff and officials of land offices from union parishad to the Land Ministry must have to submit their wealth statements by February 28.”

The land minister also said, "When the Prime Minister provided me the duty of state minister for land in 2014. I worked a lot then. I took initiatives to start automation to remove complexity in land ministry."

“Once upon a time the land ministry was a dumping station, however, this is an important sector. I will take it in a better position in next five years. Revolutionary changes will take place if good governance can be ensured,” he said.

Chattogram press club president Kalim Sarwar, former president Ali Abbas, Chattogram journalist union president Nazimuddin Shamol, press club general secretary Shuklal Dash and others attended the function.
