‘Legal actions against illegal, unethical web contents’

Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, also Joint General Secretary of ruling Awami League, has said legal actions would be taken against illegal and unethical web contents.

The Minister said this while exchanging views with journalists at the ministry of the Secretariat on Wednesday.

He said, “Offensive and pornography like web contents should not be uploaded on public platform. This is against the Video Pornography Control Act-2012 and punishable offence. The punishment is maximum 10-years jail.”

He said, “We have already informed Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (BTRC) over the web contents.”
