Lightning strike leaves two dead in Sunamganj

Two youths have been killed in a lightning strike at Modhanagar in Sunamganj district.

The incident took place on Thursday night at Haribando haor of the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Awal Mia, 35, son of Siraj Mia at Amjora village under Chamordani union of the upazila, and Babul Mia, 32, son of Chandu Mia of the village.

Officer-in-Charge of Modhanagar Thana Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed the news.

According to locals and police, they were hit by a lightning strike when they were catching fish in the haor.
