Pabna Correspondent: Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque has said the home ministry is preparing a list of Rajakars who were involved in killing, arson and other criminal activities against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.
He said, “The government will publish the list of Rajakara prepared by the home ministry without any change.”
The minster said this in reply to a question of a journalist after inaugurating a Muktijoddha Complex in Atghoria of Pabna on Friday.
About the death penalty of some war criminals the minister said judiciary has found them guilty and handed down the death penalty. “Stand of some people against the court verdict is tantamount to opposition to the country’s constitution,” he said.
“The government is fully alert about the activities of the supporters of the war criminals,” the minister said.
Deputy Commissioner of Pabna Kabir Mahmood chaired a function while President of the Association of Television Channel Owner (ATCO) Anjan Chowdhury Pintu, Freedom Fighter Habibur Rahman Habib, Police Super Sheikh Rofiqul Islam, Sadar Upazila Chairman Alhaj Mosharrof Hossain, Iswardi Upazila Chairman Nuruzzaman Biswas, Atghoria Upazila Chairman Tanvir Islam, Municipality Mayor Shohidul Islam Ratan, Mayor of Bera Municipality Abdul Baten and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Akram Ali spoke, among others, on the occasion.
Mozammel Haque said the present government of Sheikh Hasina has honored Freedom Fighters at its level best. He said the graveyards of the Freedom Fighters across the country would be preserved in a same design as a mark of showing homage to them.
Freedom Fighters would get bonus on the occasion of Victory Day and Independence Day. Their allowances will also be increased from the current level, he added.
