MP Harun gets bail

The High Court (HC) has granted bail to lawmaker and BNP Joint Secretary General Harun Or Rashid for 6 months.

The single HC bench of Justice Md Shawkat Hossain passed the order on Monday.

Advocates Zainul Abedin and Mahbub Uddin Khokon moved for the petition in the court while advocate Khurshid Alam Khan argued for Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Earlier in the day, the lawmaker filed an appeal with the HC challenging a lower court verdict that sentenced him five years’ imprisonment for enjoying the privilege of importing a car without tax.
