Man gets life term for raping 8-year-old girl

A court in Kushtia sentenced a 50-year-old man to life term imprisonment on charge of raping an eight-years-old minor girl.

Judge of Kustia Women and Children Repression Prevention Special Court Munsi Md. Mashiar Rahman passed the order on Monday noon.

The convict is - Shahjahan Ali, 50, son of Abdul Rahim, hailed from Manaharpur village of Kumarkhali upazila.

Public prosecutor Advocate Saiful Islam Bappi said, on September 2017, the convicted person took the girl to his room alluring to give flowers and raped her. Later, the victim’s mother filed a rape case with Kumarkhali police station.
