Medical device traders to go on strike tomorrow

Staff Correspondent: Traders of medical devices announced a three-day strike as the concerned authorities did not comply with their demands till December 5.

The strike will be observed from tomorrow to December 8.

The decision came from a press conference held at Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Bhaban in the capital on Monday.

Traders of medical devices in the press conference said they have taken this decision as the concerned authorities did not comply with their demands till December 5.

They threatened to announce a tougher programme if their demands are not met even after the strike.

Bangladesh Medical Instrument and Hospital Equipment Dealers and Manufacturers Association President Sharif Uddin Ahmed urged all concerned traders to make the strike successful.

Due to the strike, drug administration will be responsible for any inconvenience of patients not the traders, he warned.

Earlier on November 28, an ultimatum was issued in this regard to press home their demand.
