Mir Quasem hears verdict on radio

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: War criminal Mir Quasem Ali has heard the verdict of death sentence upheld for him by Supreme Court (SC) on radio at Kashimpur Central Jail.

Confirming the news, Nashir Ahmed, Jailer of Kashimpur Central Jail-2, said Mir Quasem heard the verdict over rejecting his review plea on radio around 10:30am on Tuesday.

Earlier, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court upheld his death penalty for crimes against humanity during the liberation war in 1971, rejecting the petition seeking review of death sentence on Tuesday morning.
