Missing baby found alive in shopping bag

A one-month old baby was found alive in a shopping bag in an abandoned condition in Kazir Deuri area of Chattogram Katwali police station on Monday noon.

Witnesses said hearing crying of a baby, a rickshaw puller noticed the minor first in a shopping bag. Meanwhile, locals informed police. Later, police rescued the minor and sent it to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.

The baby went missing from house of school teacher Manik Chakrabarty and Happy Chakrabarty in Mehedibagh area this noon. Later, police recovered the baby girl in an abandoned condition.

Head of the child health department at the Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), Dr Pranab Kumar Chowdhury said, the minor was in critical condition.
