Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have detained Journalist Shafiqul Islam Kajol, who had been missing since March 10, from Benapole border in Jashore on allegation of intruding into the country from India.

Kajol was later handed over to Benapole port police station in a case filed against him.

Kajol's family filed a general diary with the Chawkbazar police station in the capital on March 12 and later filed a case on March 18 with the same police station regarding the disappearance.
