Mobile phone sets worth Tk 3.7cr seized at Dhaka airport

Staff Correspondent: Customs officials seized around 900 mobile phone sets worth Tk 3.70 crore at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Tuesday.

The mobile sets were brought by a Bangkok fight TG-339 that landed at the airport at 11:00am, Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) Director General Dr Md Shahidul Islam confirmed.

Sources said that on secret information, the law enforcers launched a search at the cargo section of the airport and found two luggage.  Later, 900 mobile phones were recovered.

Market value of the seized mobile sets is estimated at Tk3.7 crore.
