Monitoring committee created to check rice prices

Three monitoring committee and a control room under food ministry have been opened to stable rice prices across the country.

Anyone can put complaints regarding market conditions. Phone numbers are: 02-9540027 and 01642-967727.

The committee members will visit three rice markets every day. Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, Senior Assistant secretary will lead committee-1 while Md Faruk, additional director of food directorate will lead committee-2 and Deputy Secretary Nurul Alam of food ministry will lead committee-3.

Besides, a control has been opened to monitor the rice markets in district and upazila levels.

Sumon Mehedi, senior information officer of food ministry confirmed the matter to risingbd on Sunday.
