Mosquito larvae: DNCC fines house owners Tk 1.87 lakh

A mobile court of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) fined the owners of buildings Tk 1.87 lakh after finding Aedes mosquito larvae in 14 wards of DNCC.

Dr Afsana Alamgir Khan, Deputy program manager of Malaria Elimination and Aedes Transmitted Disease Control Program of the Communicable Disease Control (CDC) unit of the Directorate General of Health Services confirmed the matter on Thursday (July 9).

Afsana Alamgir said, monitoring team officials visited potential mosquito breeding areas and found aedes larvae in some houses in DNCC.

Meanwhile, executive magistrate fined the house owners and authorities of under construction buildings in 1, 8, 10, 12, 16, 18, 20, 22, 23, 24, 30, 31, 34 and 37 wards.
