Muntasir Mamun returns home after recovery from coronavirus

Veteran historian Prof Muntasir Mamun has returned home from hospital after recovering from coronavirus.

He returned home from the capital’s Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on Monday, after 16 days of treatment.

Chowdhury Shahid Kader, general secretary of Bangladesh Itihas Sammilani, confirmed this on Monday.

In a messgage he said, “Prof Muntasir Mamun was admitted to Mugda General Hospital after contracting coronavirus on May 3. On the following day, a medical board was formed for his treatement after Prime Minister’s instruction. On May 7, he was taken to CMH and put in high dependency unit (HDU) of the hospital. He was shifted to cabin after progressing health condition. Later, he was tested two times for coronavirus and found negative.”

At the same time, his 86-year-old mother Jahanara Khan was admitted to Kurmitola General Hospital with coronavirus. She also returned home after recovery.

Bangladesh Itihas Sammilani expressed gratitude and thanks to PM and others concerned as Prof Muntasir Mamun has returned home after recovering from coronavirus.
