Murder accused killed in Cox’s Bazar gunfight

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: An accused of a murder case was killed in a gunfight with police, in Jadipur area under Teknaf upazila of the district early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Hasan, 28, son of Hamid Ullah, a resident of Nayapara refugee camp in Teknaf.

Teknaf police station OC Pradip Kumar Das told risingbd that acting on a secret information that the accused in Hinla Juba league Omar Faruk murder case took position in the area, a police team conducted a drive there. Sensing presence of police, the accused and his cohorts opened fire. In reply, police also opened fire which triggered the gunfight, leaving him bullet injured.

Later, the injured was sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital where duty doctors declared him dead.

Meanwhile, a locally made gun, five rounds of cartridges were recovered from the spot.
